Approval time is manufacturing time
Sample approval, mock-up review and shop drawing sign-off consume weeks before production starts. When a programme shows manufacture only, it is already wrong.
Identify the governing items early
- Stone reserved from a single lot
- Cast or moulded elements requiring tooling
- Bespoke metalwork with a finishing process
- Feature glazing and doorsets
- Long-lead lighting and equipment
Sequence around the ceiling
Specialist ceilings cannot be installed until services are complete and inspected. That dependency, not the ceiling itself, is what usually moves.
Give each approval a date
Approvals belong on the programme with the same weight as deliveries. A sample sitting on a desk is a delay that nobody has recorded yet.
