Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital

Rumaithah, Kuwait · Delivered · MEP installation package

Scope

HVAC piping, electrical installation, plumbing

Type

Hospital MEP installation

Fabrication

Pipework supplied and fabricated to site set-out

Interfaces

Mechanical plant, building distribution, hospital areas

Supply, fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning of chilled-water and hot-water piping serving the hospital's mechanical plant, with electrical and plumbing installation through the designated areas.

01Coordination

Piping routes fixed before fabrication

Chilled-water and hot-water routes were set out and agreed before fabrication, so pipework arrived on site to a surveyed grid rather than being cut to fit.

  • Route survey and set-out ahead of fabrication
  • Bracketing intervals and supports fixed to the set-out
  • Electrical containment routes coordinated with mechanical services
  • Builder's work and penetrations issued from the agreed routes

Set-out — routes agreed before anything is fabricated

02Plantroom

Chilled and hot water from plant to building

Plantroom pipework, headers and valve sets were installed with access, isolation and withdrawal space held throughout the distribution.

  • Chilled-water and hot-water piping installed to the mechanical plant
  • Headers, valve sets and isolation arranged for maintenance
  • Insulation and supports installed to specification
  • Pressure testing and flushing before connection

03Commissioning

Balanced and witnessed

Mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations were tested and commissioned as one sequence, with results recorded and witnessed.

  • Water balancing recorded against design flow rates
  • Electrical distribution, lighting and power tested and certified
  • Domestic water systems disinfected and tested
  • Witnessed sign-off across the installed systems

04Handover

One document set, one accountable team

As-builts, certificates and O&M information were issued as a single package under one line of responsibility.

  • As-built drawings for mechanical, electrical and plumbing
  • Test and commissioning certificates issued together
  • O&M manuals and warranties indexed by system
  • Aftercare contact retained after completion
